Gitanjali Devakul organised a session on cyber-bullying for the students of class X. The session was conducted by Akanksha, a counseling psychologist. Cyber-bullying is common and is a form of bullying that can be easily prevented.
The guest spoke about the causes, effects of cyber-bullying and ways to prevent the menace. The speaker at the session said that bullying affects both the persons being bullied and the person bullying- physically and mentally. Its impacts are long-lasting and can create an impression that will take a long time to fade.
When we observe that someone is being bullied, we must raise our voice and support the person being bullied. Ignoring bullying is also indirectly a form of bullying, the guest said. It is necessary to speak up when someone is being bullied; it is the only way that everyone will get to know about it.
Setting up awareness campaigns, conducting workshops, having an anti-bully squad, encouraging people to participate in anti-bullying activities is extremely necessary, the counsellor added.
