College dropout posing as doctor treats patients for years; nabbed in Kamareddy

Kamareddy: A college dropout, who posed as a doctor and treated patients for several years without a valid degree and licence, was arrested on Thursday.
According to Additional SP Chaitanya, the accused, Mulkala Ravinder was practising medicine in Star Hospital in the district headquarters with a fake doctor certificate and Aadhaar card in the name of L Ravinder Reddy. Surprisingly, he worked in many hospitals before joining Star Hospital, police said.
He was finally arrested based on a complaint from Medical Council of India Registrar Dandem Lalayya Kumar. The police have seized a fake Aadhaar card, fake doctor’s certificates, a laptop and a mobile phone from him.
Interestingly, Ravinder claimed that he did MBBS from Gandhi Medical College. He even downloaded the certificates issued by the Medical Council of India website and changed his name in the doctor certificate to Ravinder Reddy.
Ravinder belongs to Ramakrishnapur village in Mandamarri mandal of Mancherial district and did not complete his graduation.
The police have registered a case against him under Section 11/2025, U/Sec 318(4), 338, 336(3), 340(2), 319(2) of BNS.
