Cong govt supressing protesting KGBV staff by deputing govt teachers: BV Raghavulu

Sangareddy: CPI (M) Polit Bureau member (M) BV Raghavulu said that the Congress government was suppressing the agitaion of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalas (KGBV) staff, who were on strike for the last 25 days, by deputing government school teachers, ANMs and Asha workers to replace them.

The KGBV teachers were part of Samagra Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) employees who were on strike.

Speaking to news reporters in Sangareddy on Friday, Raghavulu said that the KGBV teacher’s demand for an increase in salaries and others were justifiable. He said that Congress came to power by promising to fulfill their demands, but it had failed to keep them.

Raghavulu also accused the union government of ignoring the demands of farmers though Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s has been on hunger strike for 39 days. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who promised to fulfill the demands of the farmers in 2021, was going back on his promise.

Another senior leader Cheruvupalli Sitharamulu demanded the State government to extend Rythu Bharosa to all the farmers without any conditions. He said that Congress was going back on the election promises they made.

Later, Raghavulu addresses a seminar on left alternative politics a need of the hour in India. Party leaders Chukka Ramulu, Mallesham, Jayaraju, Manik and others were present.
