Hyderabad: A host of leaders and activists from different political parties, including Congress, BJP and AIMIM, formally joined the BRS at Telangana Bhavan on Monday. Gautam Yadav, son of Pedda Srisailam Yadav, is a prominent leader among those inducted into the BRS fold.
Hailing the defections as a barometer of growing public discontent, BRS leader and MLA P Sabitha Indra Reddy predicted a resurgence for BRS starting with the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election.

The former Minister accused the Congress government of betraying every segment of society. “The people of Jubilee Hills have already decided to teach Congress a lesson through their votes,” she remarked.
Emphasising that the by-election would serve as a litmus test for the anti-incumbency brewing against the Congress regime, she questioned the Congress’s two-year record, stating, “Apart from pushing the state towards a big ruin, what has Congress achieved?”
She contrasted this with the governance in the BRS regime, crediting K Chandrashekhar Rao for swiftly resolving power and drinking water crises during his tenure, thereby sparing households the burden of inverters and water tankers.
“Today, power cuts are back, the era of inverters has returned, and water tankers are once again plying the roads,” she lamented, pointing to the resurgence of these issues under the current administration.
Sabita Indra Reddy also praised KCR’s unwavering commitment to development and welfare even amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“During corona times, we improved roads in Hyderabad and expedited the completion of flyovers,” she recalled, asserting that the public now believes Telangana’s progress would only accelerate if Chandrashekhar Rao returns to power. She urged BRS cadres to intensify efforts to ensure Maganti Sunitha secures a massive majority in the Jubilee Hills election.
BRS leader Nagesh Mudiraj, addressing the gathering, lambasted the Congress for riding to power on promises of guarantees to the people, only to fail in implementing even a single pledge despite the passage of over 700 days, far beyond the assured 100-day timeline.
“No section of society in the state is happy with Congress today,” Mudiraj asserted, adding that people across the board were yearning for a return to the K Chandrashekhar Rao administration. He declared that BRS’s victorious journey would recommence from the Jubilee Hills bypoll.
