Congress failed unemployed youth, BRS will fight for jobs: Talasani
BRS leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav accused the Congress government of failing unemployed youth and taking credit for recruitments initiated during the previous regime. He announced a major youth meeting in August and said the BRS would continue fighting for employment opportunities.
Hyderabad: BRS deputy floor leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav accused the Congress government of betraying unemployed youth by failing to fulfil its poll promises. He said the government was taking credit for recruitments initiated during the previous BRS regime. He also announced that the party would organise a massive public meeting of unemployed youth in Saroornagar in August.
Addressing a meeting of unemployed youth titled “Nirudyogula Nayavanchana” (Deception of the Unemployed) at Chaitanyapuri on Thursday, Srinivas Yadav stated that the K Chandrashekhar Rao government filled 1.6 lakh government jobs and initiated the recruitment process for another 40,000 posts. Following the Assembly elections, the present Congress government merely distributed appointment letters and took credit for the recruitments, he said.
“KCR focused on ensuring reservations for local youth in government jobs and succeeded in securing Presidential assent for the same, which led to a delay in job recruitments,” he clarified.
The former Minister criticised the Congress government over its failure to deliver electoral promises, including a monthly unemployment allowance of Rs 4,000, distribution of scooters to girl students and interest-free loans of Rs 10 lakh for unemployed youth. “Only the Congress leaders gained MLA posts and Ministerial berths, but unemployed youth have been abandoned after the elections,” he added.
He criticised the ruling Congress for demolishing houses of the poor in the name of HYDRAA and Musi Riverfront development. He said the government had also abandoned farmers to fend for themselves and registered cases against those who questioned its failures.
Appealing to unemployed youth not to lose hope, Srinivas Yadav urged them not to take extreme steps and assured them that the BRS would continue to fight for their rights.
