Hyderabad: Accusing the Congress government of deceiving all the sections of the society, union Coal Minister and BJP State unit president G Kishan Reddy alleged that the Congress government had not achieved anything in the last one year and that it lost the confidence of the people of Telangana.
Kishan Reddy, who released a chargesheet on the one-year governance of the Congress government on Sunday, said the Congress party vowed to deliver on its election promises within 100 days of taking office, yet after one year, not a single commitment has been met. He flayed the government for ignoring the promises made to farmers and other sections of society, including unemployed youth and women.
The Congress had promised Rs. 2 lakh farm loan waiver and investment support of Rs 15,000, and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had, before the assembly elections, asked farmers to take loans and, now, banks were not giving fresh loans to them, he alleged.
Among the poll promises made to the people of Telangana, 10 gms of gold, a scooter and Rs. 2,500 monthly pension for eligible women had been assured, but none was fulfilled, he said, adding that the Congress had also promised Rs 4,000 per month to unemployed youth and creation of two lakh jobs in the first year of the government formation, but nothing had come so far.
Congress opposed the pharma city and even promised to cancel the project after coming to power but it went ahead with the project and tried to acquire land forcefully from the farmers, he alleged. Congress was not able to provide hygienic food to government residential school students and food poisoning was taking place on a regular basis in these schools, he alleged.
