Nalgonda: A resident of the Nalgonda Housing Board Colony was found lying on the road with his throat slit and bleeding profusely near the clock tower in the city on Wednesday morning, causing panic among passersby.

Police, who were called in by onlookers, responded swiftly and saved Syed Nadeem.

Nalgonda 2-Town ASI Ravula Nagaraju provided first aid to prevent further blood loss and shifted him to the Nalgonda Government Hospital for treatment.

While being transported in the police vehicle, Nadeem reportedly said he had slit his throat on his own as some people were trying to kill him.

The police have recorded Nadeem’s statement and started investigating the circumstances leading to the incident.

They are also looking into his allegation of being targeted by unknown individuals.
