CPI, CPI(M) flay Union Budget for neglecting Telangana
The CPI and CPI(M) State units criticised the Union Budget, alleging that Telangana was ignored in allocations and project sanctions. CPI State Secretary Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao said promises made during the State’s bifurcation were not honoured, and demanded accountability from BJP MPs elected from Telangana.

Hyderabad: The CPI and CPI(M) State units slammed the Union Budget and pointed out that Telangana was neglected in budgetary allocations and sanction of projects by the BJP-led Centre.
CPI state secretary and MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao said there were no allocations or announcements pertaining to the promises made during the State’s bifurcation.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, Sambasiva Rao demanded that BJP MPs elected from the State answer to the people regarding the Centre’s discriminatory attitude towards Telangana.
CPI (M) State Secretary John Wesley demanded that the Union budget should be revised and allocations should be made in a manner that was beneficial to Telangana’s interests, especially the social classes. Funds were not provided for expansion of Hyderabad Metro Rail, no support was extended for the pharma sector and there was no mention of the Warangal coach factory, he said.
