Hyderabad: Following the recovery of a note in the car belonging to software professional Shanthi Reddy, who along with her two teenage children ended their lives at Cherlapally railway tracks on Saturday, the police are now seeking help from forensic experts to verify the handwriting.
Pinninti Vijaya Shanthi Reddy (35), a resident of Harithaharam Colony in Boduppal, and her two children Chetana (18) and Vishal Reddy (17), both pursuing intermediate courses, died in a suspected suicide pact at the Cherlapally railway station on Saturday night.
After the bodies were found the police began enquiries and came to know that the family had come to the railway station in a car. On checking the vehicle, a note written on a paper was found in the car purportedly written by Shanthi Reddy.
In the note she apologised for ending her life for some reasons and said she did not want to leave the children behind alone in the world. The police want to confirm the note was written by Shanthi Reddy to rule out other angles in the case. The police are also analysing the call detail records of the family.
Vijaya Reddy, the husband of Shanthi Reddy, has returned to the city from Dubai, where he works with a private company. The police have recorded his statement in the case.
Shanthi Reddy had left her house around 6 pm on Saturday and picked her two children from hostels. The trio then went to the Cherlapally railway station in the car and parked the vehicle outside. Shanthi Reddy, Chetana and Vishal then went towards the railway tracks.
