Hyderabad: The special drive to crack down on unauthorised constructions in Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) limits commenced on Monday and 10 buildings were demolished on the first day.
The special demolition drive will continue in the coming days with assistance from District Task Forces (DTFs) and Police department, said HMDA in a press release. DTFs were constituted as a part of Telangana State Building Permission Approval and Self-Certification (TS-bPASS) implementation.
Before the drive was taken up, the Metropolitan Commissioner, Arvind Kumar had constituted four teams for a ground survey and identify unauthorised constructions. Based on the report, the DTFs demolished the buildings. Initially, the unauthorised constructions spread over 600 square yards will be demolished, said HMDA in a press release.
