PEDDAPALLI: SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Balram said that CT and MRI scanning facility will be launched shortly in Singareni main hospital.

Terming Singareni main hospital as a crown of the company, he assured to take steps to double its glory by providing more facilities. He made these comments while inaugurating the Singareni Nursing College building on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, he assured that besides the main hospital, all other hospitals of the company were modernised to provide better treatment to employees. Doctors, nurses and other staff of hospitals should work on a par with super specialty hospitals and provide better treatment to all the patients in Singareni hospitals itself instead of referring to other hospitals, he advised.

Balram promises to take steps to introduce BSc Nursing course besides continuing the existing GNM Nursing course so that besides the children of Singareni employees, other students too could pursue nursing. The role of nurses was vital in the health sector.

The SCCL was continuing such a nursing college since 1960. So far, 825 students have undergone training in the college. Of them, 500 are working with Singareni itself, 200 in government hospitals and 153 in foreign countries and private hospitals. While 54 students are pursuing the course, 21 are waiting for exam results.
