Cyberabad Police, SCSC conduct DiLSeY programme to boost cyber awareness
A two-day cyber awareness programme by SCSC and Cyberabad Police educated participants on rising cybercrimes, AI threats, and online safety. Officials stressed vigilance, quick response to fraud, and spreading awareness to prevent financial and digital risks.

Hyderabad: A two-day cyber awareness programme, Digital Literacy to Secure Yourself (DiLSeY), was organised by the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) in collaboration with Cyberabad Police.
During the programme, DCP Sai Manohar shared insights into the latest financial cybercrimes through real-life cases, highlighting how quickly such frauds are evolving.
Naved Khan, CEO of SCSC, spoke about the positive role of the internet in everyday life, while Bhanu Murthy, Associate Director SCSC, conducted an engaging session on social media crimes, cyberbullying, and sextortion.
Ragu Kannan also emphasised the importance of digital parenting, offering practical tips for families. Sessions on AI safety, deep fakes, and emerging cyber threats were led by Krishnaveni, Cyber Security Forum Lead.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner, Dr M Ramesh, said people should be very careful about cyber frauds. He advised not to click on unknown links or download APK files from untrusted sources, as these are common tricks used by fraudsters. He explained that cyber criminals work in strong networks and can easily trap people.
He said the “golden hour” is very important, and quick action can help in recovering money. He also suggested that everyone should spread awareness to at least ten people around them so that more people stay safe.
