Day care cancer centres inaugurated in 34 government general hospitals in Telangana
Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha inaugurated 34 day care cancer centres across Telangana and announced the rollout of mobile screening vehicles to improve early diagnosis. The centres will offer screening, diagnosis, chemotherapy, and palliative care, with plans to establish regional cancer hubs in all 10 erstwhile districts.

Sangareddy: Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha has inaugurated day care cancer centres virtually in 34 government general hospitals (GGH) across Telangana during a programme in government medical college in Sangareddy on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Damodara Rajanarasimha said that the government would soon press 34 mobile cancer screening vehicles into service in the State to screen the population. He said that the aim is to screen every individual across the State to enable early diagnosis, which would help save lives.
Stating that the government was currently providing cancer treatment in MNJ Cancer Institute and NIMS, the Health Minister said that patients from districts were finding it difficult to visit Hyderabad for treatment every time, which prompted the creation of the facilities in all district headquarters.
Damodara Rajanarasimha said that the centres will have facilities such as screening, diagnosis, chemotherapy and palliative care. He said that they will establish regional cancer centres in all the 10 erstwhile districts soon, aiming to provide complete cancer care locally.
