Delhi Public School: Literary fete brings out best in students

Delhi Public School Nacharam organised a virtual literary extravaganza, Fusion Forza on August 27. Fusion Forza provides a well-deserved platform for young blooming minds and opens doors for voicing an opinion and entertaining the audience. This year, the gathering witnessed the genesis of the event, an initiative of vice-principal Surekha Nayani. Students had three categories under the competition Valley of Words- VoiceX, Quipster’s Show- Stand-up Comedy and Orator’s Circle-Group Discussion.
The event started with an invocation of the blessings of the divine, through a beautiful classical song and dance by the head girl Sanjana. Head of the English department Sraboni Dash provided the prologue to the programme, giving insights into the programmes. School principal Sunitha Rao provided the keynote address.
She applauded school chairman Malka Komaraiah and director Pallavi Komaraiah for providing the students many such platforms where they challenge themselves and excel. Chief guest Dr Samuel Berthet, Director of Alliance Français of Hyderabad and a historian, addressed the gathering which was followed by viceprincipal Surekha Nayani’s address. A curtain-raiser for an e-magazine -a collection of poems by students of classes IX and X, Vivid Verselets, was released.
Anita Menon, a master trainer for teacher training programmes, public speaking and editorial skills was the external judge for Valley of Words while Arjun Anand, a versatile actor and classical singer was invited to Judge Quipster’s Show. Dr Poulomi Das, an educator from Visva Bharati University was the judge for Orator’s circle.
Siddharth Amaradhi won the first prize in VoiceX. Devishi Nandanoore bagged the first prize in Stand-up Comedy. In Orator’s Circle, Group 2, comprising Ritisha S, Parthvi Mishra, Neelakshi Singh, Yash Arora, Faaiza Khan and RAnaghasri won the prize, R Anagha Sri was declared as the Best Speaker award.
