Hyderabad: The students of grade III and IV of Delhi Public School, Nacharam observed International Mountain Day on Dec 11 to spread awareness about the importance of mountains in our lives and our planet.
The purpose of the celebration was to envision the kids about the inhabitants, the ecosystem, and the environment. The students highlighted issues and raised awareness to conserve and protect the mountains through a video. They were sensitised to preserve the natural, cultural and spiritual heritage.
The students also participated in the poster-making activity. They were educated about sustainable tourism in mountains as a contribution to creating additional and alternative livelihood options and promoting poverty alleviation, social inclusion, in addition to landscape and biodiversity conservation.
