Jagtial: Shortage of urea continues to trouble farmers in Jagtial district, forcing them to adopt unusual methods to reserve their places in queue lines at agricultural cooperative societies.
On Sunday at Siripur in Mallapur mandal, instead of slippers, passbooks and liquor bottles, farmers placed brooms, old clothes and tree branches in queue lines to secure their turn.
Three villages, Siripur, Mogilipeta and Nadikuda, that fall under Siripur Agricultural Cooperative Society woke up to news that 320 bags of urea had reached the society. Following this, farmers from all three villages gathered in the early morning and marked their spots with assorted objects.
Each farmer was allotted one to two bags of urea.
