Rajanna-Sircilla: Scores of devotees thronged the Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada on Monday, the last Monday of the sacred Karthikamasam.
Monday is considered the most auspicious day for the presiding deity, prompting pilgrims from across the State and neighbouring States to visit the shrine. As renovation works are underway at the main temple, a large number of devotees gathered at the Bheemeshwara temple where all pujas are currently being performed.
Meanwhile, devotees entered into an argument with the temple staff over the limited issue of Nitya Kalyanam tokens. Though scores of pilgrims waited in queue lines for the tickets, officials reportedly issued only 79 tokens, leading to tense exchanges with those who were denied tickets.
It took nearly three hours for devotees to perform Kodemokku, with long queues seen throughout the temple premises.
