Disqualification petition against Danam Nagender: Speaker concludes hearing, reserves verdict
Assembly Speaker G Prasad Kumar reserved his verdict after completing the hearing on disqualification petitions against Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender. The decision in the Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari case has also been reserved and is expected soon
Hyderabad: Speaker G Prasad Kumar concluded the hearing on disqualification petition against BRS turncoat MLA from Khairatabad Danam Nagender on Saturday and reserved his verdict.
Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy and BJP MLA A Maheswar Reddy had filed the disqualification petition against the Khairatabad MLA. The oral arguments of Padi Kaushik Reddy’s counsel have already been recorded, while the oral arguments of Maheswar Reddy’s counsel were scheduled on Saturday.
The Speaker has already conducted hearings on the petitions filed against Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari. The verdict in the Station Ghanpur MLA’s case has also been reserved and the Speaker is expected to make both decisions soon.
The Supreme Court had earlier directed the Speaker to hear the disqualification petitions and announce decisions in the matter.
Among the 10 BRS turncoat MLAs facing disqualification cases, the Speaker struck down the petitions filed against eight MLAs citing lack of evidence. The fate of Khairatabad MLA and the Station Ghanpur MLA will be known based on the Speaker’s decision.
