Disqualification petition hearing against Danam Nagender, Kadiyam Srihari reaches final stage
The Telangana Assembly Speaker G Prasad Kumar is set to conclude hearings on disqualification petitions against BRS MLAs Danam Nagender and Kadiyam Srihari. While petitions against eight other MLAs have already been dismissed due to lack of evidence, the fate of the Khairatabad and Station Ghanpur MLAs will be determined today.
Hyderabad: The hearing on the disqualification petition against BRS turncoat MLAs Danam Nagender and Kadiyam Srihari is likely to conclude on Saturday. Speaker G Prasad Kumar will conduct the hearing from 2.30 pm, and Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender is expected to attend the proceedings.
Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy and BJP MLA A Maheswar Reddy filed the disqualification petition against the Khairatabad MLA. The oral arguments of Padi Kaushik Reddy’s counsel have already been recorded, while the oral arguments of Maheswar Reddy’s counsel are scheduled to be recorded on Saturday.
The Speaker has already conducted hearings on the petitions filed against Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari. The verdict in the Station Ghanpur MLA’s case has been reserved and is expected to be announced after the hearing in the Khairatabad MLA’s case on Saturday.
The Supreme Court had earlier directed the Speaker to hear the disqualification petitions and announce decisions in the matter.
Among the 10 BRS turncoat MLAs facing disqualification cases, the Speaker struck down the petitions filed against eight MLAs citing lack of evidence. The fate of the Khairatabad MLA and the Station Ghanpur MLA will be known based on the Speaker’s decision.
