Hyderabad: Over 19,000 candidates have lost their degree seats as they failed to self-report online on the Degree Online Services Telangana (DOST) 2025 website as per the guidelines.
According to the information shared by the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE), as many as 60,428 candidates were allotted seats in the first phase of web counselling in DOST 2025. However, only 41,285 candidates confirmed their seat allotment as the online self-reporting concluded on June 6.
The TGCHE had already made it clear that if a candidate fails to reserve the allotted seat through online self-reporting, he/she will forfeit the seat, and their registration on DOST will be automatically cancelled.
For the second phase of counselling, 35,954 candidates had registered, 34,276 completed their applications while 33,409 paid the registration fee, and 46,886 candidates, including from the first phase, exercised their web options for allotment of seats and colleges. Seats will be allotted on June 13 and candidates must confirm the same between June 13 and 18.
Registration and web options for the third phase of web counselling will be from June 13 to 19, with a fee of Rs. 400.
Special category certificates (PH, CAP, NCC and extracurricular activities) will be verified on June 18. Following this, the seats will be allotted on June 23, and candidates must self-report online between June 23 and 28.
All the candidates who confirm their seats in the first, second and third phases of the web counselling must report at the respective colleges between June 24 and 28 as orientation programmes will be conducted during the time period and classes are scheduled to commence on June 30.
