DPS Nacharam: Science Week flames curiosity to explore

Delhi Public School, Nacharam launched Science Week programme, Innovations in Connective Prospects virtually. The Science Week project a brainchild of school chairman M Komaraiah and director Pallavi took yet another perfect form this year, the school claimed.
Reading the profiles of the chief guests Dr. Partha Kumar Sarkar, Associate vice-president of Bharat Biotech and Prof. Steven John Coats, an eminent academician from Emory University, Georgia, USA, principal Sunitha Rao said that the programme was designed to inculcate scientific attitude and research temper.
The two-day Science Week was inaugurated to provide a platform to motivate all science students to explore challenging topics. Dr. Sarkar, congratulated and nostalgically reminisced his association with DPS Nacharam. He shed light on the necessity of innovation at a personal and organisational level. He spoke about the origin, spread and prevention of the deadly Covid-19.
Two scintillating videos with scientific temperament on day-1 stole the show and the celebrations continued with showcasing of working models, experiments, videos, presentations and quizzes ranging from aeronautics and DNA to Health and Nano-Technology.
A video on Covid frontline warriors served as a heartful tribute. Starting from environmental conservation to food conservation and robotics to artificial intelligence, the multi-disciplinary session enthralled the audience.
Prof. Steven John Coats, spoke of his struggles and experiences to become an eminent researcher and inspired the science students to take up scientific challenges. Sr vice-principal Nandita Sunkara, applauded the efforts of the science coordinator, Prabhakar, Chemistry PGT Dr Srinivas and the science department for guiding and mentoring the students.
She highlighted that in today’s world where the medical field has taken a giant leap, research has become the need of the hour. With Robotics, AI and ATL labs, school provides ample opportunities to students with scientific temperament. All the science students of senior secondary enthusiastically participated in exploring various scientific topics with curiosity.
