“The State government should declare Minimum Support Price of Rs 25,000 per quintal to chilli farmers,” Dayakar Rao demanded.

Under the BRS rule, farmers’ welfare was accorded top priority. Under Rythu Bandhu, financial assistance was extended to farmers in time, besides their stocks were procured by offering remunerative prices, he stressed.

The Congress government has deceived the farming community. Crop loans of many farmers were yet to be waived, besides assistance was to be extended under Rythu Bandhu, the former Minister said.

The old days of farmers standing in serpentine queues for fertilizers were back under the Congress rule. The BJP came to power by assuring false promises and similarly the Congress won the elections with bogus assurances, he slammed.
