Khammam: Former MP Nama Nageswara Rao expressed serious concern over repeated incidents of students falling ill at the Kallur Tribal Girls’ Ashram School.
He urged authorities to ensure safe drinking water, nutritious food and proper sanitation at the school to safeguard the students’ health. He also demanded that the State government order a thorough investigation and take action against those responsible for any negligence.
On Saturday evening, 10 students suffered from vomiting and severe stomach pain after eating supper that included rice, potato curry and lentils. This was the third such incident in the past 13 days.
The hostel staff shifted the students to the Kallur Government Hospital on Sunday morning. Medical officer Dr Navyakanth said the students were safe. Tahsildar Sambasivadu inspected the ashram school and interacted with the students.
