Hyderabad: Exclusive meetings of a few Ministers and senior leaders with AICC leadership in New Delhi have triggered a sense of unrest in Gandhi Bhavan here.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge individually in New Delhi last week. This was followed by the AICC leadership’s meeting with the entire State Cabinet in New Delhi on Thursday.

However, a couple of Ministers and senior leaders met the AICC leadership separately and shared their opinions on a host of issues. Animal Husbandry Minister Vakiti Srihari met the AICC chief and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi separately on Wednesday and held a closed-door meeting for nearly half an hour. The Minister is known to be a close aide of the AICC chief and discussed several issues related to the state of affairs in the Congress in Telangana, party sources said.

After the AICC leadership’s meeting with the Telangana Cabinet on Thursday, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka met the AICC chief at his residence on Friday. Though it was a formal meeting to extend an invitation for his son’s marriage, party sources said there was also a discussion on certain aspects, particularly the political controversy surrounding Singareni tenders.

Similarly, State Planning Board Vice Chairman G Chinna Reddy met the AICC chief on Friday and discussed the State’s current political situation and the Congress party’s performance in the recent elections. It may be recalled that he has been speaking openly against certain decisions of the Congress government in the State. Apart from this, relations between the State Planning Board Vice Chairman and Wanaparthy MLA T Megha Reddy, who is known to be a close aide of the Chief Minister, are strained.

TPCC working president T Jagga Reddy has already left for New Delhi and is likely to meet Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders.

All these meetings have triggered unrest and speculation among leaders in Gandhi Bhavan. Despite TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud stating that the meeting with the AICC leadership went well, many leaders are apprehensive about the meetings and their possible outcome.
