Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy instructed the officials to introduce facial recognition for students, teaching staff and other professionals in all schools and colleges and make it mandatory. Facial recognition would improve attendance and aid in addressing shortcomings in professional educational institutions, he said.
At a review meeting with education department officials here on Friday, the Chief Minister ordered that construction of all educational institutions be taken up under the Education and Welfare Infrastructure Development Corporation (EWIDC). Required engineers and other staff would be deputed from other departments for the corporation, he said.
Reviewing the status of bill payments, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to clear the pending bills for Mid-day meals through the green channel and warned that there should not be any delay in processing. The pending bills related to sanitation work in schools under Amma Adarsha Schools should also be cleared immediately, he said.
“Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has already appealed to union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to exclude loans taken for development of the education sector from the FRBM limits,” Revanth Reddy added.
