Families donate organs of two brain dead individuals in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Family members of two brain dead individuals, 60-year-old Eaga Ramesh, a farmer hailing from Kareemabad, Warangal, and 20-year-old Manne Karthik, a B Tech student from Kondakal, Shankerpally, have donated their organs to needy patients under the State-run Jeevandan initiative. A total of 6 organs were donated by the family members of the brain dead individuals.
On August 15, Ramesh collapsed at his home due to a sudden rise in blood pressure. His family members shifted him to a private hospital in Hyderabad for emergency treatment. Despite the best efforts, his health condition did not improve and doctors declared him brain dead on Monday, August 17. The farmer’s wife, Eaga Aruna, gave consent to donate his organs, a kidney and liver (in all two), for needy patients.
On August 16, the 20-year-old B Tech student Manne Karthik, who was travelling to his hometown, collided with a four-wheeler. Family members of the youngster immediately shifted him to a private hospital. Despite the best efforts, his health condition did not improve and on Monday, August 17, the attending doctors declared him brain dead.
Karthik’s father Manne Narsimulu made the heartfelt decision to donate his organs, including kidneys (02), liver (01) and Pancreas (01), in all four donor organs, to needy patients.
