Sangareddy: Hours after a fire accident reduced sugarcane crop on 50 acres into ashes in Mogudampally mandal, two more accidents were reported in two villages in the mandal on Tuesday night.
One such accident occurred when a truck carrying sugarcane came in contact with live overhead wires at Gousabad. The fire spread to 10 acres of the harvested crop and the drip pipes laid in the field of farmer Sanjeeva Reddy were also reduced to ashes.
A fire tender was rushed to the spot to prevent the fire from spreading. The farmer suffered Rs 10 lakh loss.
In another fire mishap, three acres of sugarcane crop belonging to farmer Devi Singh was gutted in Mogudampally. Singh said he suffered Rs 3 lakh loss.
