Suryapet: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Sunday said that education would help for individual development and betterment of the society as well.
Paying tributes to eminent social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule by garlanding his statue at Suryapet on the occasion of his death anniversary, Jagadish Reddy said that Phule strived to educate the people about the importance of education in achieving individual development. Phule asserted about 150 years back that the empowerment of women would be possible only through education for which he started a school for women.
The Minister also asked the people to follow the principles of Phule for the real development of the country. Suryapet Municipal Chairperson Perumalla Annapurna, Zilla Parsihad Vice-Chairman Venkatanarayana and others were among those who paid tributes to the social reformer.
