Former Boath MLA Rathod Bapu Rao has quit the Congress and is likely to join Telangana Jagriti. The leader, who switched parties multiple times in recent years, is learnt to be unhappy after being sidelined within the Congress.

Adilabad: Former Boath MLA and Congress leader Rathod Bapu Rao quit the party and is likely to join the Telangana Jagriti on Sunday.
A teacher by profession, Bapu Rao ventured into politics by resigning to the post. He won from Boath Assembly segment by contesting on the ticket of BRS, then TRS in 2014 and 2018. He shifted loyalty towards the BJP after being denied the ticket by the BRS in 2023.
Rao then quit the BJP and joined the Congress when he was not given the ticket from Adilabad Parliament segment in 2024. He was upset after being sidelined by the Congress in recent times.
