Hyderabad: Former minister Koppula Eshwar visited Shailaja, a student from the Wankidi Tribal welfare Ashram School in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district, who is currently receiving treatment at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) due to severe food poisoning.
Accompanied by former MLA Korukanti Chander and former Corporation Chairman Meda Rajeev Sagar, Eshwar rushed to NIMS to inquire about Shailaja’s health condition from the doctors.
Speaking to the media, Eshwar expressed deep concern over the deteriorating conditions in welfare hostels. He mentioned that another student, Jyothi Mahalakshmi, who was also affected by food poisoning, had recovered and been discharged, but Shailaja remained in a critical condition, undergoing dialysis due to kidney failure. Despite multiple visits and requests for comprehensive treatment, Shailaja’s condition has not improved, and she is now on artificial respiration.
Eshwar criticized the state government, particularly Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who holds the education portfolio, for their negligence.
