Hyderabad: The GHMC has removed 52 abandoned and scrap vehicles from roadsides during its ongoing sanitation drive across 300 wards of Greater Hyderabad, as part of city-wide efforts to enhance cleanliness, public safety and traffic mobility.
The GHMC field teams identified and removed long-abandoned vehicles from roadsides, footpaths and public spaces across the city. These vehicles caused traffic obstructions, posed safety risks and contributed to unhygienic conditions in several localities. The removal operations were carried out by GHMC staff with support and coordination from the Traffic Police wherever required.
Citizens are requested to report such cases with exact location details to the GHMC helpline 040-2111 1111, enabling prompt verification and necessary action by field teams.
Meanwhile, the GHMC transported a total of 3,945 metric tonnes of waste, comprising 2,910 metric tonnes of solid waste and 1,035 metric tonnes of construction and demolition debris.
The sanitation drive continued across Greater Hyderabad, with special sanitation operations carried out over the last 11 days in 2,526 locations across 300 wards within the GHMC limits.
