Gitanjali Vedika: Tribal lifestyle a treasure of cultures
Students of class III explained to co-students about the tribes of different States in India, their food, festivals, and clothing by presenting a special video during assembly.

To honour the indigenous people and create awareness about the unique challenges they face, Gitanjali Vedika celebrated International Day of the World’s Indigenous People on August 9. Students of classes I to 7 took part in various activities.
Little ones of classes I and II learnt about the traditional tribal outfits by dressing up in tribal costumes. Students of class III explained to co-students about the tribes of different States in India, their food, festivals, and clothing by presenting a special video during assembly.
Middle schoolers of Gitanjali Vedika then interacted with students from a local tribal school. This session allowed them to learn about the unique challenges that children in tribal areas face.
They were awed by the differences in lifestyles and termed them a treasure trove of the nation. Deputy Director of Education for Tribal Welfare Chandana Patil explained about the tribal areas in our State and their lifestyles.
