Siddipet: Officials have been receiving a huge number of applications from farmers who have not received loan waivers, during the grama sabha meetings. It was witnessed during a grama sabha organised at Gadicherla pally, which falls under the 15th ward of Siddipet municipality.
When Harish Rao visited the village to participate in the meeting. He was surprised as 43 farmers from the tiny village filed applications complaining that they did not receive the loan waiver benefit.
The villagers told Harish Rao that many other farmers did not even submit applications since they had lost the hope of getting the loan waiver. These farmers include those who borrowed as low as Rs 47,000 crop loans.
Speaking to news reporters, Rao ridiculed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s claims of completing 100 per cent loan waiver. He further said that the Congress government could not even complete 50 per cent loan waiver until now.
He dared the Chief Minister to sit together in Kondareddypally, the Chief Minister’s native village or Gadicherlapally, to verify the claims of Revanth over loan waiver amid the farmers.
Rao further said that the farmers, whose names featured in the third list on November 30, did not get their loan waiver until now.
Accusing Congress of lying on farmers’ loan waivers, he said that there was no transparency in their claims. The former minister demanded the government release a white paper on loan waiver if they had any commitment.
Due to the denial of loan waiver, and Rythu Bharosa, Rao said that the farmers were pushed into distress. Rao lamented that one farmer committed suicide in Telangana on every single day since Congress came to power. He questioned the government to come up with when they would release the Ryhu Bharosa funds. Rao asked the government to Rs 15,000 to Rythu Bharosa.
When the government had funds for Musi riverfront development, Regional Ring Road (RRR) and others, he questioned how the government could not mobilise funds for Rythu Bharosa.
Rao demanded the government to issue ration cards to all the beneficiaries. The former minister said that the government could not build a single house for poor in the first 14 months of their rule.
