Rajanna-Sircilla: BRS general secretary T Jeevan Reddy said that the High Court’s verdict on the PC Ghose Commission’s report was a tight slap in the face of the state government. The state government had conspired to project BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao and MLA T Harish Rao as culprits by using the PC Ghose Commission report. However, the HC directed the government not to take any action against the BRS chief and Harish Rao based on the report since there was no evidence of crime in it.
With this, the curtains for the Congress party’s conspiracies have come down, Jeevan Reddy said while addressing a press conference in Sircilla on Thursday. Talking about the Kaleshwaram project, he blamed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for not taking initiatives to repair the Meddigadda barrage even after one and a half years of the NDSA report.
Though the report was submitted in April 2025, the government failed to conduct even soil testing for repair works. Except for an attempt to project the BRS president as the culprit, the CM was not bothered about the problems of farmers. It required around Rs 300 crore to Rs 400 crore for repair works. Though three summer seasons have already passed, not even soil testing has been done so far.
Instead of talking about repair works, the CM utilised his recent meeting in Kataram to make political statements. The ruling party would work responsibly only when the opposition parties were strong, he opined. Construction of a barrage at Thummidihetti was an election promise of the Congress party and it was also included in its election manifesto. However, there was no progress on the issue even after 30 months of the Congress party assuming power in the state. Was it not Revanth Reddy’s failure? he questioned.
It was possible to utilise only 60 tmc of water if a barrage was constructed at Thummidihetti. However, the state required 200 to 300 tmc of water. With a vision to utilise the Godavari, former CM Chandrashekhar Rao constructed a barrage at Medigadda and took water to different places through the Annaram and Sundilla projects.
A public sector undertaking company, L&T, constructed Medigadda. Moreover, the company would take up maintenance responsibility for up to three years. Stating that Kaleshwaram was the lifeline for the entire Telangana, the BRS leader said Revanth Reddy should be aware of it.
People elected the Congress government for betterment. However, Revanth Reddy cheated all sections by not implementing the ruling party’s poll promises. So, people are fed up with the Congress party’s two and a half year regime and are seeking change. They have an opinion that ‘Revanth Reddy should go, KCR should come back’.
Stating that the BRS president was appearing in the dreams of the CM, Jeevan Reddy opined that why people would think about other leaders if Revanth Reddy was good. He had seen five CMs but no one faced such huge opposition as Revanth Reddy within a span of two years, he said and added that Chandrashekhar Rao was the future of Telangana.
