Hyderabad: Multiple districts across Telangana are bracing for significant rise in day time temperatures in the coming days. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad in its weather forecast on Saturday indicated that nearly 25 districts are likely to witness maximum temperatures hovering between 36 degree Celsius and 40 degree Celsius.
Barring eight districts including Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Mahabubabad, Nalgonda, Siddipet, Suryapet, Warangal and Bhongir, maximum day time temperatures in the rest of the districts are expected to rise.
“Maximum Temperatures are likely to be above normal by 2 to 3 degrees at isolated pockets over Telangana,” the IMD-Hyderabad in its forecast said.
With temperatures being forecasted to rise across Telangana, the Director of Public Health (DPH) on Friday issued an advisory urging the general public to take precautions against heat related health issues.
The DPH, Dr B Ravinder Nayak in the advisory urged people to limit their outdoor activity to mornings and nights and avoid venturing out in the afternoon between 12 noon and 4 pm when the daytime temperatures peak.
The health department has advised people to stay hydrated, through sufficient water intake, frequent usage of ORS and consumption of homemade drinks like lemon water, butter milk / fruit juices etc.
Wear thin loose cotton garments, preferably light colours, cover your head by using umbrella / hat / cap/ towel and wear shoes or chappals while going out in the sun.
The advisory urged people to avoid consuming alcohol, tea, coffee, carbonated soft drinks or drinks with large amount of sugar as these actually lead to loss of more body-fluid or may cause stomach cramps. Avoid high-protein, salty, spicy and oily food and do not consume stale food, it said.
