Home guards save devotee with CPR at Nirmal’s Basar temple
Two home guards at Sri Gnana Saraswathi Devasthanam in Basar, Nirmal district, saved a devotee’s life by performing CPR after he collapsed with chest pain while waiting for darshan. Indrakaran Reddy and Ganesh Narayana, on duty at the shrine, responded immediately and revived the devotee before handing him over to medical staff.

Nirmal: Two home guards won plaudits for saving the life of a devotee by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) at the ancient Sri Gnana Saraswathi Devasthanam in Basar on Friday.
Home guards, Indrakaran Reddy and Ganesh Narayana, who were discharging duties at the shrine, responded quickly when they noticed a devotee collapsed after experiencing severe chest pain while standing in a queue for darshan of the deity.
They showed spontaneity and performed CPR, saving the life of the devotee. They then handed over the devotee to medical staff. SP Dr G Janaki Sharmila commended the home guards for saving the life of the devotee by displaying humanity and spontaneity.
