Kairos International School invited an expert facilitator from UK Emma Wheatly to conduct an expert English teaching class for the students of lower secondary. Emma, the Curriculum Coordinator from UK conducted a writing skill task on a Cambridge Objective.
A classroom is a hub for exploring, analysing and applying knowledge to the students; inviting guest speakers help the students to improve and enrich their learning in an interactive manner, the school said. It is not only helpful to the students but also contributes to the teacher’s knowledge and practices.
It breaks monotony and sparks and revives interest among students, the school added. The expert facilitator exposed students to teachings drawn from real life experiences. It involved all the students to be actively engaged in a more approachable way.
Such events inspire and influence students to ask questions, apply new knowledge to follow methods of lifelong learning. The tasks given to students were time bound with a good learning outcome. The students were excited and enjoyed the class.
They thanked the expert facilitator. The expert facilitator also interacted and shared her knowledge with the teachers. School Principal L Krishna Sri said that the school believes that true education is beyond text books and the event organised for the students exposes them to international speakers and students.
Students at our school have discussions with the international students on various topics like online learning, face to face learning, culture and heritage of various countries. It helps in the holistic development of the students, the school said.
