Hyderabad: An auto-driver, Syed Anwar, 41, was arrested on charges of killing a 24-year-old man by slitting his throat two days ago. The victim, Abdul Shahrukh (24), also an auto-driver from Mustafanagar, was killed while travelling along with Anwar on his scooter, reportedly because he did not like Shahrukh marrying his daughter.
Anwar, a resident of Vattepally, was angry after Shahrukh, who was already married and had three children, married Anwar’s daughter without his knowledge. There was a case registered against Shahrukh earlier for kidnapping and misbehaving with the girl. For a few days, Shahrukh was visiting Anwar’s house and demanding that the woman be sent along with him as he had married her.
“Anwar, on the pretext of going to Shahalibanda, took him to a lane in Jahanuma and slit his throat while Shahrukh was driving the scooter,” Gajurao Bhupal, DCP (South) said, adding that Anwar was produced before court and remanded on Tuesday.
