Hyderabad: Following the opening of four floodgates at the Himayatsagar reservoir to release surplus floodwater into the Musi River, Hyderabad District Collector Harichandana Dasari visited Chaderghat along with revenue officials on Friday to assess the flood situation.
Due to significant rainfall in the district, she urged those residing along the Musi River to remain alert.
Heavy rains upstream resulted in 1,300 cusecs of rainwater flowing into the Himayatsagar reservoir and the release of 1,391 cusecs of water downstream through the Musi River.
Harichandana said teams were continuously monitoring low-lying areas along the river and keeping residents informed.
Residents of the Musi River area and other low-lying parts of the city were urged to call the helpline numbers 040 23202813 and 7416687878 if they encounter issues such as waterlogging, electricity problems, drainage blockages, or traffic disruptions.
