Hyderabad: In a remarkable feat of perseverance and self-discipline, a Hyderabad woman aced the Group-I Mains examinations, considered one of the toughest recruitment exams, sans coaching.
The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) Group – I examination is generally dominated by candidates who undergo extensive coaching for years. However, Dr. Lakshmi Deepika Kommireddi proved that success could be achieved with grit and self-preparation as well. She secured 550 out of 900 marks and stood top in the Group – I Mains exams general ranking list released by the TGPSC on Sunday.
Speaking to ‘Telangana Today’ Kommireddi said she was hopeful of cracking the recruitment after completion of the Mains examinations.” My exams really went well. However, I did not expect to top the ranking list. It came as a surprise as there is tough competition,” she said.
Kommireddi, who completed MBBS from the Osmania Medical College, shared that her preparation for the UPSC Civil Services examination gave an advantage for Group – I recruitment examination.
“I have done self-study. I attempted the Civil Services examination thrice and cleared the Main exams twice. Around 80 percent of the preparation for the Civil services helped me with my Group exam preparation. I thoroughly studied topics related to Telangana,” she said, adding that she is also expecting to clear the Civils this year.
In the past, Kommireddi who cracked the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission Group – I bagged the Mandal Parishad Development Officer post. However, she did not join it, as it would hamper her preparation for Civil Services.
