Hyderabad: The Prohibition and Excise Department teams caught five persons in different cases for peddling ganja and seized 3.6 kg of the contraband from them.
In the first case, the officials caught two persons, including a girl from Madhya Pradesh, who were staying in a lodge at Kondapur. The duo — Devadula Raju and Sanjana — allegedly procured ganja from different places and selling to local customers in Hitec City and Kondapur. The police seized 1.2 kg of ganja from them.
In another case at Dhoolpet, the team caught a woman, Rakhi Bai, a resident of the Hanuman temple area and seized 1.2 kg of ganja from her. The woman told the officials that one Ramesh Singh was supplying ganja to her.
In the third case, the officials caught two people, Mohammed Shahabuddin and Syed Ghouse, at Golconda while they were allegedly selling ganja and seized 1.2 kg of the contraband from them.
