A court in Kumram Bheem Asifabad sentenced a man to 10 years in prison and fined him Rs 10,000 for cultivating ganja on his farm in 2021. The court examined witness testimonies and evidence before delivering the verdict.
The arrested persons Akash Singh, Durgesh Singh, Anand Singh, Shankar Singh, Hulsingh and Lokesh Kumar were regularly bringing the ganja from five persons who are natives of Odisha. A case is registered against the five suppliers as well, said officials.
Bhukya Saraiah alias Sai, Almekar Shyam, and Venkatesh, all from Mancherial town and SK Rizwan, a pan shop operator belonging to Ballarshah of Chandrapur district in Maharashtra were apprehended while moving suspiciously at Mancherial railway station.
Shaik Ahmed from Owaisi Nagar in Bhainsa and Imammiya Syed Dildar Ali of Dharmabad in Nanded district of Maharashtra were apprehended while trying to sell ganja at a hospital in Mudhole.
