Hyderabad: As a part of its initiative to crack down on quacks, individuals who are practicing allopathy in vulnerable patients without MBBS degree, inspecting teams of Telangana State Medical Council on Monday conducted raids at several clinics and diagnostic centres in Ramanthapur and Uppal area.
At Nehru Nagar, Ramanthapur, Council teams inspected SVL Clinic, which was registered under the name of Dr Narasimha Chary. During inspections, it was detected that the facility was being operated by a quack Avancha Suresh, who was appointed as clinic’s Managing Director and not by Dr Chary. The TSMSC issued notices to Dr Narasimha Chary and also file a case on Avancha Suresh.
In the same area, the inspecting teams detected another quack Turaga Nageswar Rao, who was treating patients from a clinic Sri Balaji First Aid. The quack was administering pain killers and Schedule H injections without MBBS qualification. The TSMC members are in the process of filing a complaint against the quack with the police.
At Ram Reddy Nagar, Ramanthapur, the Council teams conducted inspections at Ushodaya First Aid Centre, being run by one individual Yadagiri. “Yadagiri has falsely claimed that he is a doctor. He is illegally prescribing medicines, stocking distill water vials for sale, administering antibiotics and steroid injections to patients,” the TSMC said.
At Beerappaguda, Uppal, the inspecting teams detected a quack B Srinu, “Srinu was writing prescriptions to patients, has huge stock of antibiotics, steroids and pain killers for sale. Without permissions, he was also sourcing high-end drugs private agencies,” the Council members said.
In the same locality, the Council teams inspected Dhanavantiri Diagnostics, which did not have permission from the health department. “The digital signature of one Dr Leela Sambrani (Pathologist) was being utilized illegally by quacks to conduct all kinds of diagnostic tests from this facility. We have issued notices to Dr Leela and will file police cases,” members of the Medical Council said.
