Hyderabad: Teams of Jubilee Hills police along with Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force personnel are searching for Srinivas, the driver who had stolen Rs 55 lakh belonging to a realtor at Jubilee Hills.
Srinivas, who is a native of Krishna district in AP, made away with the Rs 55 lakh, when his employer, Santosh Reddy gave the cash and asked him to handover it to a person at Kokapet.
Srinivas joined as a driver with Santosh Reddy about six months ago. On Saturday, Santosh Reddy gave the amount to his driver at around 2 pm and when the driver failed to hand over the same till the evening, he grew suspicious and tried to contact Srinivas. On finding his phone being switched off, the realtor approached the police.
On a complaint, the police had registered a case and started efforts to track down the driver but could only find the car. The police verified the closed-circuit camera visuals to track down his movement.
A senior official of the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force said that the local teams are coordinating with the Jubilee Hills police in tracking down Srinivas. “Efforts are on and we will nab him soon. We are verifying whether he was previously involved in some similar cases,” the official said.
