Hyderabad: A young student from Hyderabad, Sahruda PDV, makes her mark on the global stage, representing India at the ongoing COP 30 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Belem, Brazil.
Sahruda, a Grade 9 student from The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, has been officially invited as a Global Representative, with blue zone access, by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
COP 30, organised under the auspices of the United Nations, is one of the world’s foremost platforms for international climate action and policy dialogue. Sahruda’s selection as a youth delegate is a testament to their commitment and leadership in climate advocacy.
Sahruda has played a pivotal role in co-developing the Children’s Climate Manifesto, a collaborative document that articulates the concerns, hopes, and recommendations of young people regarding climate change. The manifesto includes proposals for legislative reforms and initiatives to be adopted by governments worldwide.
At COP 30, Sahruda presented the document’s core recommendations and participated in discussions, urging world leaders to consider youth perspectives while framing future policies for a safer and more sustainable world.
