Hyderabad: With the second wave of the Covid pandemic causing unprecedented economic disruption, students of Oakridge International School, Bachupally, have risen up to help and do their bit. From distributing Covid-essential kits to raising money through artwork, the students have taken up various ways to help the needy.
For instance, Simran, a Class X student from the school has initiated ‘Covid Trahi’ to provide financial aid and other necessities to the affected families. “I aim to be able to bridge the gap between the ones willing to give and the ones in need,” says Simran, who along with her friends Harshita, Rashi and Aryan distributed more than 720 Covid kits.
Another Class 10 student, Shalini, is utilising her art to raise money for the needy, through her idea ‘Art for a Cause’. Sachit, a Class 6 student of the school has also done his part by facilitating Balasadan, a girl-child welfare centre in Siddipet with study materials, books, clothes and other necessities.
“Charity is a virtue that unites children and their noblest efforts. The community action and service at the school strengthens students’ personal learning as well,” said Baljeet Oberoi, the principal of the school.
