Hyderabad: Thirumurugan, Rithika clinch U-14 AITA titles

Thirumurugan routed unseeded Tejas Singh Bhatia 6-3, 6-1 on his way to the under-14 title

Hyderabad: Third seed V Thirumurugan and top seed Rithika Kakarlamudi won the boys and girls singles titles in contrasting styles on the final day of the Under-14 AITA tennis championship at Sania Mirza Tennis Academy, Murtuzaguda, on Friday.

Thirumurugan routed unseeded Tejas Singh Bhatia 6-3, 6-1 on his way to the under-14 title.

However, Rithika faced a stiff resistance from G Hansika Reddy before prevailing at 3-6, 6-4, 6-0.
