Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police conducted a mega counselling session for drunk-driving offenders at the Traffic Training Institute, Goshamahal, on Monday.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) D Joel Davis addressed around 600 violators along with their family members, highlighting the grave dangers of driving under the influence.
Davis warned that most victims of fatal road accidents are young people aged 20–35 years, causing irreversible loss to families. He explained how alcohol impairs the central nervous system, retina, and motor control, and narrated real-life cases of families who lost their breadwinners due to drunk-driving crashes.
He also underscored the financial, psychological, and social consequences of such accidents, urging citizens to use ride-sharing services or public transport instead of driving after consuming alcohol.
