Hyderabad: Twin reservoirs see sharp rise in inflows; Hussain Sagar filled to the brim
The rising water level at the Hussain Sagar has prompted the government to take precautionary measures to prevent any potential overflow or flooding in the surrounding areas

Hyderabad: Water levels in the twin reservoirs, Osman Sagar and Himyathsagar, have risen significantly due to continuous rainfall.
The Hussain Sagar is currently at its brim, prompting the government to take precautionary measures to prevent any potential overflow or flooding in the surrounding areas.
By 5 pm, the water level in Osman Sagar was 1,782 feet against its full tank level (FTL) of 1,790 feet, with recorded inflows of 100 cusecs coming into the reservoir. In contrast, in Himayathsagar, just one foot remains before the floodgates need to be opened. The present water level is 1,761 feet against its FTL of 1,763 feet, and the inflows are 300 cusecs.
In Hussain Sagar, the recorded water level at 1 pm is 513.14 metres against its minimum water level: 514.75 metres. The FTL of the Hussan Sagar is 513.41 metres.
