Peddapalli: Internal bickerings in Peddapalli Congress came to the fore with the local MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna’s statement targeting some political leaders from the district. While addressing the media here on Tuesday, the MP found fault with the Collector Koya Sree Harsha for not following the protocol and not printing his name on plaques of various developmental works.
Though the State government announced to celebrate former central minister Gaddam Venkataswamy’s death anniversary officially, celebrations were not held in Peddapalli collectorate. The Collector was neglecting the dalit leaders by following the instructions of upper caste political leaders though he has to work irrespective of politics.
The MP’s statement became sensational among the party workers in Peddapalli parliament constituency. Vamsi Krishna’s family has a dispute with a senior party leader from the district. Before Assembly elections, Vami’s father and Chennur MLA Gaddam Vivek joined the congress party on the condition of getting two MLA and MP seats. Based on the agreement, legislature seats were allocated to Vivek and his brother Vinod (Bellampalli).
When Vivek tried for an MP ticket for his son Vamsi Krishna, various dalit (Madiga) organizations staged protest demonstrations opposing the ticket to Vamsi. Going a step ahead, some of the organizations staged a protest at the AICC office in New Delhi.
