‘Permission must for meeting’
Justice K Lakshman of Telangana High Court directed Tahreek Muslim Shabba to approach Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Zone, afresh for permission for its meeting on September 25. The Judge disposed of the writ plea filed by the organisation questioning an order of the police refusing permission for conduct of a unity peace rally on September 25.
According to the application, the rally was for two hours. The route was from Gulzar House to Quli Qutub Shah Stadium. The Judge said the petitioner will make a fresh application to hold the meeting instead of a rally. The meeting shall be for about 100 persons and the police will consider the said application on an undertaking to be given that no untoward incident will happen and members would follow Covid guidelines and no provocative speeches will be dealt with. The Judge made it clear that such permission could also have additional conditions.
